Cross Back A-Line Linen Minidress

I really wanted to love this dress! Love the color and cross straps in the back. I am a 4 or 6 in other Madewell dresses, but decided to try the 8 as it was the smallest size left. The top part was too big (the sides near the underarms stuck out) and it was tight enough around my waist that you could see a bit of a little muffin top bulge in the back. It also flared out a little much on the bottom. I think you need to be well endowed to and have a 6-pack abs to make this dress work for you. And probably 6" taller would help too!

Looks like red is the color for this season. I was looking for a linen dress to wear during the hot days in Washington DC. Thought I would pick up this red dress since I don't own many items in red. It's a very cute dress with the cross over in the back. But it does run large. I sized down from my usual size 2 to a size 0 and there's still room. Being linen it wrinkles like crazy. I took it out of the bag and it was already wrinkle, lol. Definitely recommend.

If you want room go for your normal size. I have lost a lot of volume in my chest due to working out so it was baggy on top, but comfortable in the hips. I sized down to a 4 but that also meant tighter in the hips- so I kept the 6 but will need to find a push up bra to fill it out. A bralette won’t cut it unless you are bigger than a B/C cup. I haven’t washed it yet and I hope it won’t shrink!
