slips off from the heel
This shoe was recommended to us for our son because he has hammertoes on both feet. I measured his feet meticulously but despite the shoes being the right length they slip off from the heel. I tried adding insoles but that didn't help at all. Tightening the hook and loop doesn't seem to help either. I ordered the regular width so I can't go any narrower.

This is a well made high quality sneaker. Great for a winter cold weather sneaker although it is not waterproof. The Velcro strap goes all the way across and holds well. Expensive but worth the price

Hook and Loop
Great shoe. Secures to my child’s foot well and does not come undone like the other style with just a top strap. Seems to be the only real hook and loop that New Balance makes. Wish they would bring back the other hook and loop shoes since the top straps easily come undone.

I definitely recommend getting new balances
If your child has fat feet, these sneakers are wonderful one cause they come wide too. They’re so easy to put on especially for school. My daughter loves them. It’s real easy for her to get herself ready. She’s at that age where she just wants to do everything by herself, so this was a good investment.
