JOURNEE Ekko Weave Flat (Women)

I normally am between a size 7.5 and 8 in shoes with 7.5 fitting a little tight. I ordered these shoes in the 7.5 thinking that with the material being leather, they would stretch over time to fit my foot better. The 7.5 size was huge on me. I attempted to walk around my home in these shoes and the material rubbed painfully against the back of my ankles. I had high hopes for these but would suggest you order a size smaller than usual.

The shoe looks gorgeous and seems well made, but after trying 3 sizes of the same style/color they don't work for me. I usually am a solid 8, I never have to be picky about choosing shoes due to any width or foot issues, I have a very easy time purchasing shoes. I can order anything and it always fits. When the 8s came and were absolutely giant, I could never consider wearing them I was walking right out of them. I returned and ordered a 7, I figured I could jump down a whole size since they ran so big. But I have never bought a 7 before. The 7s seemed 3 sizes smaller than the 8s. I tried to wear them for a 2 hour car ride heading on a fun overnight and literally hurt my toe so badly I had pain for over a month which was ridiculous. I returned the 7s and tried the 7. 5s with not many choices left but those were also tight. I don't know what is up with the sizes but I am disappointed. Really wanted to adore these shoes! I was so excited to find them. Oh well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate these shoes, but I give them two stars because they're well-made. They're TOO well-made. I can't break them in. I've tried getting them wet, using a hair drier, using a shoe stretcher -- even sandpaper. They simply won't stretch. One piece of leather pinches my pinky toe, and the woven leather is cut in a way that creates sharp corners on each piece. I ordered a wide size and unfortunately that makes the heel TOO wide -- I had to put padding in. The insole is leather, which makes my feet sweat. My advice: if these shoes don't feel good right out of the box, return them.
