all went well . However, the shoes are way too small. I even ordered the exact size that I had before. I guess they are just fickle. Returning these for a larger size.

DON'T BUY
I used to think Johnson & Murphy made good shoes, I mean I have bought fifteen to twenty pair over the last 20 years, but the last to pair I have purchased have been of very poor quality, the last pair I bought two months ago already have the sides blowing out on them (separating from the sole) they were the Bradford Cap Toe maybe I should have waited until I found the Aldrich II Cap Toes in my size I would have had better luck but I was in a hurry and they were the only ones in stock in my size. Just glad I didn't get the two pairs I went to buy.

I bought several pairs of this particular shoe about a month ago and I have been wearing them around the house, breaking them in. The overall leather uppers may be a bit thinner than what I'm used to (I have another pair of J&M Meltons), but the shine gloss on these shoes is beautiful, and in my opinion, simple, restrained and elegant. One bonus of having thinner leather uppers - they seem to be breaking in quite fast, too.

Disappointing
My usual J&M model was out of stock and based on description I thought this one was similar. The fit is good and comfortable but too shiny! The finish is painted and easily damaged showing the raw leather underneath. The sole makes a lot of noise when walking on hard surfaces. Three months of everyday use and they are still not broken-in, requiring retiring several times a day.

They will destroy your feet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They look great, slightly more shiny than they appear in the picture, I received many compliments. I found the "leather" to be cheap and more like plastic and other J&M shoes I have purchased. These do not breath at all and basically ruined my feet for three weeks even after the fourth time wearing them. They feel like you are wearing bricks. I returned, might try to order a wider pair to replace because they really look great.
