Floral Godet Pleat Linen Blend Midi Sundress

This is a cute dress. I needed to return this dress due to the cut. I though this dress flared above the waist. That is not how it is cut. It flares at the hips. You cannot tell that by the pictures. Since I carry some weight at my waist, this dress did not work for me. The fabric is nice. I wish the dress flared about the waist, then it would have been great.

I ordered this dress because it’s a linen blend and I wanted something breezy for hot days. The description doesn’t mention that it’s lined in POLYESTER, though! That defeats the purpose of breathable linen entirely. Also, the dress is white with an olive green print (I’d prefer it the other way around) and the lining is olive, which leads to it looking kind of drab and dirty all the time. The fit is strange as well. I’m 5’3”, 155 pounds, 34DD and normally wear petite sizes. But since Nordstrom seems to be phasing out petites I’m trying more regular sizes and figure I can have it altered if I really like it. This dress was low ankle length on me and there is so much fabric in the skirt it was overwhelming on my frame. The fabric is on the heavier side too, so the drape wasn’t quite right. The waist of the dress is very fitted and feels a little smaller than I’d expect for a size large. The rest is just huge, including through the chest where the sides gapped out by several inches. I can’t quite imagine the person this would work for - someone a foot 8-10 inches taller than me with a wide upper torso/a lot of side boob and a narrow waist, I guess? Skip it.
