Berenger Long Sleeve Wrap Cotton Shirtdress

I was surprised by all of the negative reviews as I love this dress. I typically vary between a Small and Medium and the Medium in this dress fit me perfectly. The sleeves are super funky which I love. It can be a bit tricky to get on since it isn't a full wrap, but I had no problems when I undid the zipper and the belt. The fabric is wrinkly but steams quickly. It has a dramatic silhouette and can be dressed up or down. I say give it a try!

Based on other reviews, I wasn’t sure it would work for me, but I tried it and I was able to zip it up (apparently I have a narrow ribcage-?!). But it was not easy to put on! It’s not an actual wrap, and I wish alterations could just unmake the dress and turn it into a real wrap style, but I’m not sure if that’s possible. On me it’s loose on the bust (but tight right below the bust, on the ribcage), but I’m just going to use fashion tape (gentle double-sided tape) to hold the gaps down. I’m 34D, 5’10”, 165 lbs. with wide shoulders and somewhat athletic build. I am keeping the dress because I really love the unique style. I don’t love the fabric, though— it’s all cotton but feels kind of “rubbery,” like it’s been coated with something. Weird. It’s a little stiff and not super drapery. It also arrived VERY wrinkled, and I’m worried about ironing the fabric, since if it does in fact have sizing or some kind of treatment on the cloth, that might get weird if ironed-? Hopefully steaming will work. The D-ring buckle/belt is adjustable, so I recommend loosening that before trying on the dress and then tightening it as needed, but the belt doesn’t actually pull the whole dress together since it’s not a real wrap. The belt just helps define the waist. And like other reviewers have said, it does run VERY small.

I’m always a medium or small, bought this in a medium and couldn’t zipper it past my chest. The rest of the dress seemed to fit fine and would’ve been one of my favorites if I could close it. There weren’t any larger sizes left to try, but I think the rest would’ve looked huge if I had been able to get something large enough to zip.
