Organic Cotton Blend Crop Trench Coat

I purchased two of these jackets and am delighted. Eileen Fisher has always made jackets with a great design, and I will wear this with dresses, skirts and pants. The fabric is lightweight out will be perfect paired with sweaters in the cooler months. I am 5'0 and ordered the Petite Large.

I needed a jacket that could me through 3 weeks in France, including 5 days in Paris in October. Two weeks in so far, this jacket has been perfect. Light weight and breathable, it is easy to layer under. It wrinkles when packed but unwrinkles quickly once you put it on. It's worked well for long days that start out in the mid 50's and get up to the low 70's. It is ok for light rain but you would want something more substantial for heavier rain.

I'm 5'2", 36-c on top and purchased Petite Large size. The fit was roomy but not sloppy. It's a casual, yet classy jacket that works well in urban settings and going out to "nicer" places. It would not be great for really cold weather since fabric is very thin and light, but it is great for blocking out some wind and a light sprinkle. Folded up and in a giant zip-lock bag, this jacket traveled to China (taking up almost zero room in my suitcase) and it looked decent enough coming out of the jam-packed suitcase. With the right layers underneath, it is warm enough, but i purchased this more for cool weather wear. I don't think it would be water repellent enough to wear in a heavy rain, without an umbrella. But for cool summer evenings in the San Francisco Bay area, it is perfect.

I like the design of this coat but am not crazy about the fabric. It's called a "Cotton Blend" crop trench coat but it feels much more like a very light rain coat than trench coat. In other words, it doesn't feel like it has any cotton in it, only very light nylon. And it arrived very wrinkled, so I assume it's going to wrinkle very easily when it's worn or when it's packed in a suitcase. I was hoping this could double as a coat/blazer while traveling, but unfortunately, this won't do the trick. Will be sending it back.
