Classic Organic Cotton Poplin Midi Shirtdress

I love poplin dresses, so cool and comfortable. This one is 90% cute. The flawed part is the collar. It is so long that it juts forward. I guess you could wear it spread style but it looks very sloppy that way. I don’t know if the design team dropped the ball or the patternmaker needs to go back to school. I got this on sale and have skills so I’m willing to rework the collar myself. I have a 34A bust and usually wear XS with EF so, true to size.

Most of my clothing is from this line, especially the timeless dresses I’ve purchased over the years. I prefer loose fitting items and thought this dress would be a bright (red), summer favorite. I’m 5’5” and 173 pounds. I’m either a large or XL in her dresses and ordered the large based on other reviews. It would have been the correct size for this style, but I found the armholes were cut on the small side and placed too high on the dress. The fit wasn’t comfortable enough to keep, so I’m returning it. The fabric is very lightweight and soft, but the center pleats create a tent- like fit which wasn’t flattering either. An OK dress, but not for me.
