Button Front Silk Vest

I think this fits true to size for Eileen Fisher (ordered my usual EF size.) For me, it is a perfect travel piece. I will be able to wear this as a tank or as a light layer over something else like a lightweight vest. It is thin enough that a colorful bra would show through, but not so sheer that I—a fairly modest, middle aged lady—am uncomfortable wearing it alone over a nude, full coverage bra. I’m glad it is so lightweight because it folds down to about the size of a handkerchief so it will be easy to pack for almost every kind of trip. Even for cold weather trips, I hate being hot and sweaty during airport rushing, so this style is perfect for me and ivory (white) will go with everything. Some reviewers seem to think EF is doing too many shorter length tops, but as a person with a short torso, I’m relieved to have some tops that skim my waistband because that’s more flattering on my figure. If I raise my arms high, this hemline comes JUST to the top of my (always mid- to high-rise) trousers, but I’m not flashing flesh. If you have a LONG TORSO, be cautious here, but I think this will work for short- to average- torso people. It is unfortunate that there are only five buttons as this almost- sheer, quite thin silk tends to gap a little over my (ample) bust. I will try to take this to Nordstrom to get a snap added between the offending too-far-apart buttons as I’ve done in the past, but my nearest location closed so that’s harder than it used to be. This is my only negative about this blouse.
