Arizona Soft Slide Sandal (Men)

I bought these for my husband. He loves Birkenstocks and has worn them daily since college. They are his favorite weekend and after work shoes and he will wear a pair until the soles wear off. I saw these on the anniversary sale and was excited to get a different color for him. Upon receipt, we were shocked to see that the buckles are not metal but plastic! Definitely not the usual Birkenstock quality for the sale version. The sole and footbed seem fine, but only time will tell how well these will hold up.

I ordered these for to replace a 8 year old well worn pair of Arizona’s for my husband , ordered the same size 43EU D, which is equivalent to a men’s size 10 -10.5. He has worn a size 10 most of his life sometimes 10.5 in sneakers. The sandals arrived and are freakishly large…like at least inch of space in the toe if heel is placed in the heel cup and vice versa. The box and shoe both are marked correctly…I don’t if they are just stamped incorrectly or what? I have reordered in a 42, so we shall see. The Basalt color is very nice , it’s a blue/ gray that looks nice with denim, or just about any Khaki pants or shorts, just a tad dressier looking than some of the oiled leather ones, IMO. The softer footbed feels like it will be excellent and require less break in time.
