It's cute but it's small
I'm a 12/14 and I ordered a large and xl. The xl was much too small for me- very short on me (im about 5'8") and so the cups were wayyy too low to support anything. If you're short and a true size 12 the xl would prob fit you fine.

Weird Fit
This suit is a nice, thick material and is well constructed, but the fit is very off. I ordered my usual size small as well as a medium because even though I'm only 5'2" (size 2) I have a longish torso and large bust. The small fit in the waist but was too tight in the bottom and the bust was far too low, even with the straps shortened all the way. The medium fit better in the bottom, was loose in the waist, and again the bust was too low even with the straps all the way shortened. There is a built in bra, but the band was between my natural waist and where a bra band should be so it wasn't supportive AT ALL. Even if it was up where it should have been, the little cups were too teeny for me. (32DDD).
