Berwick Max H2O Waterproof Tall Boot

For the price I paid, I expected these boots to be far more comfortable. Unfortunately, the inserts are disappointing and uncomfortable for all-day wear. The soles are not as robust or heavy-duty as I had hoped, though they do offer a moderate level of waterproofing. Even after sizing up to accommodate thicker, warmer socks and orthotics, the boots feel tight, especially around the toes. A wider option would be much better for those of us with feet that have flattened over years of working with horses. Additionally, these boots lack any real arch support, which is disappointing. While they are undeniably stylish, I was looking for function over fashion. Ariat advises against riding in these boots, but I do it anyway. Despite measuring my legs to ensure the shaft sizing was accurate, they don’t fit as they should when sitting or driving. I often find myself unzipping them for comfort, and by the end of the day, I can’t wait to take them off and switch to slippers. Years ago, Ariat made boots that were truly comfortable—boots I could wear all day without discomfort. I miss those days. If I had a pristine facility with flat, rock-free ground, these might work better. For now, I’m left with a ridiculously expensive pair of fashionable boots that pair well with nearly everything in my wardrobe but fall short in performance. On a positive note, I do like the bungee-style laces, which are pretty neat, and they come with regular laces as well.
