Frankie Cable Cotton Sweater

The sweater looks nice, is not itchy, and is 100% cotton. I ordered this sweater in the black, size XL. I’m 5’5-1/2” and about 170 lbs., but mostly stomach (post menopausal), so I prefer my tops and sweaters to be long to cover, which is why, even though some were saying the sweater runs large to very large, I ordered the XL anyway, as I wanted whatever extra length I could get and don’t mind/i like a loose sweater. Just wanted to say the sweater does NOT “run big” at all, but fits. If anything, the XL that I ordered runs small, as it is in no way “extra large”, or even all that large, so if you are considering ordering this sweater, unless you like or are used to wearing tight clothes, you would probably be quite happy with ordering your regular size. This sweater is comfortable and slightly loose fitting, but not overly large. It looks and feels nice, and the only complaint I have is that it’s a bit shorter than I would like. I prefer a longer sweater that covers my abdomen, but that’s just me. The xl hits me about 5 inches below my waist. Oddly enough, the pictures online are mixed and misleading. Some of the colors and views show a very short sweater, right at the top of the waist, and in some photos (and colors) the sweater looks longer than it actually is. I expect that part of the reason is that some slender people like to wear a more form fitting sweater, so order a small size, such as an xs, s, or medium, and they don’t care about the length, so on them the sweater is short, while others like a longer and looser look, so either order their true size or go 1 size up or more to achieve that look. The models are most often skinny, so tend to model sweaters that are of very small size. There were a couple of pictures/views that puzzled me, though, as the sweater looks very short, and in some the sweater looks very long, even shorter or longer than the actual sweater is when you order it. I’d say order your preferred size, or possibly one size up if you like it looser, and maybe even 2 sizes up if you like it quite loose and/or are willing to have it be looser if you really want or need it longer. I do think the sweater is a bit overpriced, not on sale, at $90+ dollars, unless you are lucky and the size/color you need happens to be on sale. Even on sale, it’s still $73 dollars, which is still a lot, imo. Most clothing is overpriced though, imo, so take from that what you will. I like that the sweater is 100% cotton and is not itchy, but I’m not too thrilled that it must be (according to the instructions) “hand washed”, is not to be twisted or rung out, and then reshaped to dry flat. Well, if you cannot put it in the dryer and cannot otherwise remove the excess water, in my experience, it takes a heavy sweater like this one many days to dry flat because it’s too wet. I plan on at least trying to squeeze out as much water as I can and then rolling it in a dry bath towel before reshaping and laying it flat to dry, to try and cut down the drying time to at least two days, instead of 3 or 4. Keep the care instructions in mind when deciding (or not) on ordering this sweater. It is not “easy care” and something you can put in the washing machine and then either hang to dry or put in the dryer. I also wish it came in more colors than just cream/light tan, black/grey, or blue (the blue is only available in the small sizes, and the only color that is presently “on sale”).
