Jem Short Sleeve Shirtdress

Flattering dress with ruffled sleeves, attractive pattern/colors and a nice mid-weight fabric - but beware, the bust area is small. I am normally a size 10 (M), but had to size up to XL and even then the bust area was a tight fit and I have to use a safety pin to keep it from gaping open (bra size 36DD).

I am returning the dress. I really want to love it. It is so cute in so many ways. But the waste is so loose compared to the chest and hips that I need a belt with it, which makes the buttons gap in the chest and just above my waste. I was going to add snaps to solve the problem, but in the end my daughter said it's just not that flattering to my hourglass figure as other dresses I have. I am a size 12 and bought a 12.

This dress is absolutely beautiful, however it runs slightly small. The buttons gapped at the chest and stomach, so unfortunately it doesn’t work for me. I’m apple shaped and for some reason the print showed my flaws more prominently than the solid color a+o dress that I also purchased. If you have a straighter figure, I think you won’t have this problem. A possible solution would be to have a seamstress sew a straight line down the dress, preventing the buttons from gapping. This would make the dress a pull over only.
