The lining, back zipper, lack of waistband, and flowy fabric together make these pants hang perfectly for an overall smooth and elegant look. Very comfortable standing and sitting plus the confidence that you look good. They fit nicely at the waist without pulling in - no muffin top - so shirts glide effortlessly over them. The waist just kind of falls to a natural resting point instead of squeezing and there are no bumps under shirts from zippers and buttons. The fabric has that magic combo of thin enough to be flowy and weighty enough to hang well and avoid static cling. There is a slight texture to it and it does not look cheap. The lining helps camouflage panty lines and other lumps and bumps. The back zipper is nearly invisible in the seam and does not pull or buckle or add weight to a belly like a front zipper does, again adding to a smooth, columnar look overall. My belly is where I store extra weight and the front of these pants simply hangs nicely from waist to hem without pulling back in under the belly like other pants can do, again camouflaging and accommodating vs. accentuating imperfections. They also flow nicely over the seat without pulling in. They just kind of skim the body instead of trying to be form fitting. The fabric is nice enough to dress up or down; I will wear these to work. The chain belt is not attached so I removed it for now. The grommets are very flat and their little bit of weight helps the fit somehow. I bought them in navy blue (its a good classic navy BTW) and, because of the fabric and lining, I ordered a pair in white and trust there will be no show-through. I am 5' 6' and they are a little bit long. I will wear the blue ones with heels and hem the white ones to a more cropped look, maybe just under the calf. I typically wear an 8 and I suppose I could have kept the 8 but the 10 just smoothed that little bit better around my hips. Pants with these features and fit are hard to find, will become wardrobe staples, and are worth every cent.
