Amber Oversize Linen & Cotton Button-Up Shirt

This shirt is a nice weight fabric that could easily be 3 season. It appears to be well made. But the advice to size up because it runs small seems to me to be way off. I'm 5'4", 147#, 73 yrs, large busted, & normally between M-L in tops. So, I sized up & bought a L & XL to try. The L was way too big, even allowing for the idea that it's supposed to be oversized. The armholes are dropped & large. There are 2 pleats in back at 1 + inch each. The result is there is so much much material I felt swallowed up. The description shows the blouse tucked in. In back, the combo of the really long length & extra material from the pleats makes it like tucking in a sail. I really liked the shirt & would have ordered the M, which would probably have been a great look. But they're sold out-

Description is inaccurate ~ Fabric is 70% Rayon and 30% Linen! This blouse is not a lightweight fabric as described. It has a more heavy feel to it because of the higher percentage of rayon. Having said that, it is a nice blouse with some nice details ~ pleats in the back and several buttons on the sleeves for different styling options. I purchased this to wear in the summer but it’s definitely too heavy for the Tennessee heat! I will keep it to wear in the fall and winter months instead. The blue color is very pretty. I found it TTS for an oversized shirt. It drapes nicely and is very comfortable.

For me, this blouse ticks all the boxes. I’m putting together a 90’s minimalist vibe capsule and this feels aligned. It runs big. I purchased one size down and it’s big enough to give that 90s oversized comfy shirt but doesn’t feel ill-fitting. The ivory is almost a pale yellow, which is perfect for my needs. It’s on the heavier side but not overly warm. It feels like a timeless piece that will last. I could see Jo Ann Vallenari wearing this in Tequila Sunrise.
