Brinley Mid Rise Classic Straight Leg Jeans

I don't understand the reviews about them looking like "mom jeans". I'm not a mom and they look just fine. They're kind of between boyfriend style relaxed, and they're straight leg too. I like them. They have that kind of "beat up look" like you've had them a long time. I wouldn't have bought them at the full purchase price though. On sale, they're worth it.

I've never been a person to wear high rise jeans and generally a prefer a boot over a straight, and longish. I normally wear a 30.5" inseam ( I do like my pants a little longer and have never been a petite size customer). My favorite brands have tended to be low rise (around 8-8.5" is good for me- think Hudson). Every time I think I want to go with a trend I buy something like this and usually end up regretting it. So these, although soft, are long enough for me with a short heel or flats, but the rise puts them right at or just below my belly button which is as annoying as all get out. Plus I just don't think they are as flattering as say a Mother high rise, which is likely because this material is thicker. I also do tend to like the more cotton jeans rather than stretch, and these are that. So, for now, these didn't wow me (I got some Silver jeans about 3 years ago that are about the same rise but that have worn phenomenally); maybe these will do the same in the coming years. And oh, my rating of "runs large" actually means that I normally get a 27/4 in all jeans and dress pants and sometimes a 28 but these in the 26 fit. These remind me of the quintessential "mom" jeans.
