Rita Faux Suede Jacket

Purchased this with the matching skirt. I love the set together, but it’s also easy to mix and match the separates with other basics in my closet. The jacket runs large - a medium is a bit oversized on me and I’m normally a large. I like the oversized fit, however. The only negative is the material makes a swishing sound when the arms graze the sides. It’s annoying but not terrible, and I love this so much I will live with it!

I read the reviews that said it was oversized, so got an M instead of my usual L (I', 165 lbs, 5'4" and large is the correct size 95 percent of the time in outerwear). However even the M is huge! because the fabric is relatively thick, the fact that the shoulder seam is way down on the arm also made the sleeves puff out in a way that was not flattering. OTherwise a lovely, well made, substantial fall jacket. I don't dare exchange for an S because I don't know how it would fit, so am returning.

I like the on-trend look of this jacket for Fall. The hand feel isn't what I expected, almost a "raincoat" feel vs. brushed cloth. I am usually size 4/Small jacket in many brands, sometimes a 2/XSmall. I am taller with long arms and I often prefer a Small jacket for the length. This runs very oversized in XS. I might have chosen an XXS, if it existed. The sleeves come down to my knuckles like the model in the picture. I'll be keeping the jacket in XS as I think the oversized look is cute, but if you are short or petite, you may find it too large.
