Uptown Hybrid Penny Loafer (Women)

This is a beautiful loafer with soft leather (love the suede upper) and great arch support and I love the fact that it is lightweight and easily packed in a suitcase as I travel a fair amount. Unfortunately, it does not work with my foot type: wide toe box and narrow heel. I measure as an 8 1/2 and that's the size I bought, but my toes came to the top without socks. I found the toe box to be narrow as well. I am somewhere between an 8 1/2 and 9. If I were to size up to a 9, it would not work for me, either as my heel definitely wouldn't stay in place. I find it difficult to get the correct fit in Vionic shoes. I would like to see wider toe boxes on their shoes as I have bunions. I do appreciate the arch support and their stylish options, but obviously slip-ons won't work for me. Sadly, I will return them.

The shoes are an appealing style and color. I ordered 8W online. My left shoe fit well, but for my right foot which has both a bunion and bunionette, the shoe pinched and I don’t think it’s in a place that can stretch over time. In addition, the footbed is not smooth and cushioned so it feels like I’m stepping on something in there that feels like bumps or hard ridges and would not be very comfortable for walking any distance. I really wanted these shoes to work for me, but I think I they won’t be very comfortable.

I liked this shoe so much I purchased two pairs straight away , considering all the wonderful reviews. However after using them for like a month, I do have to admit they’re not for me. The fact that they’re so flexible makes them very soft for people with PF and actually by using them my PF flared up again. There’s no heel height so I think that’s the issue. No matter what socks you try to use they come off cause the back of the suede shoes it’s so soft that keeps coming undone and bringing the sock down also. I cannot believe I spent money on two pairs that I can’t use now. One thing I have to admit I did notice there was barely any arch support when I received them, I still kept them…I should have returned them right away. Years ago I never had an issue with this brand but now I always feel like it’s a hit or miss.
