Mentone Half Zip Sweater

This is my favorite sweater! I own this in a pink color and when I saw both browns were on sale I had to buy them. They are sooo worth it in my opinion. 100% cotton, heavyweight for chilly winter days here in socal, and amazing quality. I don’t mind the more cropped look I find it more flattering. Truly want to buy all the colors. Definitely get it while you can!

I’ve had my eye on this sweater for years, so when some of the colors went on sale, I finally grabbed one in Tortoise Shell. It’s absolutely gorgeous—especially the wide, floppy collar—and I love the extra-long sleeves. I have very long arms, and these still had plenty of length past my fingertips, so I was able to scrunch the sleeves up in that perfectly slouchy, ballooned way. I also really appreciate that this sweater is 100% cotton rather than a synthetic blend. Unfortunately, I didn’t listen to the reviews from other sites that warned this sweater runs wildly short—and they were right. I’m only 5'6" and don’t have a particularly long torso, but it still fit super cropped. The bottom of the sweater barely reached the top of my highest rise pair of jeans and just makes me look squat and short-torsoed as a result. Regretfully, it had to go back. Now that I know how lovely the sweater composition is, I would repurchase this sweater in a heartbeat—even at the higher original price—if they came out with a version that wasn't so cropped.

I waited a really long time for this to arrive and was so excited when it did. Sadly it's going back. Pros: the color is a beautiful tan/brown shade which was gorgeous. Also it seems nice and thick. Cons: my sweater came in damaged with a large pull in the knit in the back. I also notice lots of loose threads and small pulls... Maybe this is just the one I received. The sleeves are comically long, I do love a good long sleeve but these were a bit much. Also, the zipper is a SHINY gold, it looks sort of cheap and tacky because of the color. It's also not a fantastic zipper, catches a ton, and it's not attached to the sweater very well causing the zipper and sweater to be like wavy?! and puckered. Overall I was pretty excited for this sweater but I feel like it's just awful quality. It's going back.
