Alistair 56mm Polarized Cat Eye Sunglasses

An easy way to tell of sunglasses are truly polarized is to look at a computer screed with them on, and then turn the frames so they are vertical and look through them at the same screen. It should look all black. You can't see what is on the screen in this position. I tested this with my old Persol polarized lenses. This simple test works. My Persol lenses are soothing and comfortable to look through in the bright sunlight. Everything looks psychedelically crisp and pronounced. Colors and definition of tree leaves and flowers pop. I tried this test with these frames. When I turned them to a vertical position, I could still see some of the colors and images on the computer screen. There were large blotches of black. I wonder if this is why some of the other reviewers who did not like them said they got dizzy or a headache. I put them on to look out my bedroom window into the bright sunlight and felt some tension--like a headache, but it went away as soon as I removed the frames. They may be polarized but not the same way or to the same degree as are my old and still trusted Persols or my newer prescription polarized sunglasses from Costco. Both are super comfortable to look through and both cause the computer screen to look pitch black when I did the test to confirm their polarized lenses. The frames are beautiful, but the lenses are a deal breaker.
