Smooth & Dry Plush Microfiber Hair Wrap

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free via BzzAgent in exchange for my honest review. I've never had a dedicated microfiber hair towel before, so I was very excited when I learned I'd be receiving this one. I know microfiber is supposed to be far less damaging to hair than standard towels, but I just don't see how it, or at least this one, would be practical in use as a "towel." My expectations of a towel are to absorb moisture, causing hair to dry more quickly. The first time I used this towel wrap, I didn't dry my hair at all with anything else after stepping out of the shower. I squeezed & wrapped my hair into the wrap and had it on my head for about 30 minutes while I applied lotion, got dressed, etc. What I found is that this towel absorbs some moisture, but not much, and it also isn't trapping heat near my head like a standard towel to aid drying. So after 30 minutes, I was left with a soaked towel wrap and sopping wet hair. I tried the towel wrap again, but this time I pat dried my hair with a regular towel before using it. This was definitely a better idea than relying solely on the towel wrap to dry my hair. After 20-30 minutes, my hair was a bit more dry and the towel was only a little damp. However since my goal was dry hair, I'd have been better off letting it air dry for the same amount of time. This also defeats the purpose of avoiding hair damage caused by regular towel fabric. I used the towel a third time, again patting my hair dry with a normal towel first. I concluded that this towel wrap will only be useful for me as a towel if I stepped out of the shower and immediately had to do something like answer the door, or take out the trash on a cold winter day and didn't want to step out with exposed, wet hair. I'm going to try using this as a sleeping bonnet instead. I have long, thick hair that often bothers me when I sleep, so I use a bonnet. I expect that this will be a better use for this item.
