Not unexpected, had to return
Unfortunately, these shorts were not as expected. I bought them with the capri pants also in the navy and the fabric was totally different. I liked the capri pants and decided to keep them mostly because of the fabric. Also, I am petite and these shorts seemed oddly long and big. Just not flattering on my 5'1 self!

My New Favorite Shorts
Absolutely love these shorts! So flattering and comfortable. High waisted and the perfect length. Not too long, not too short. Highly recommend. I ordered one size up but maybe could have purchased my usual size. I like the fit and comfort of the size up for workouts though.

Great shorts version of the beloved pants
I've worn the explorer pants basically every day for a year now and thought the shorts would be a good idea. I bought the 3.5" version for my 5'2" height and the length is perfect. I have a 27" waist, 37" hips and sized down to the XS (also did this for the pants). They're slightly more snug around the waist than the pants, but this could just be due to them being new. The S would've been too much volume - no regrets sizing down.
