Ona Ave^™ Waterproof Boot (Women)

I purchased these in the size 8 and 8.5 and I found the 8.5 too big. I wear 8.5 in a sneaker, and some boots, and 8 in most everything else. Width was okay. Overall this boot is very thick sturdy leather. The sole is on the heavier side: a bit heavier than I would have liked. because the leather is thick the ankle part of the boot is a bit rigid and needs some breaking in. Overall I was disappointed that the laces in the footbed did not have protective grommets on them... the leather would likely get rather stretched like this.

Ordered these specifically because they’re advertised as waterproof - but less than an hour into a forest hike my socks were wet :( I like the design with the high laces for ankle support and the side zipper for easy access, but if you’re buying these for wet adventures they just don’t pass the test. (Important to note that I didn’t submerge or step in any puddles - I was just hiking through a forest where it had rained & the surrounding brush was wet.) Sad to return but they don’t function as advertised.

i have narrow feet, yet these shoes were too narrow for me. at the same time, my heel slipped so much while walking in these shoes that i got terrible blisters if i didn't bandage my heels or double up my socks. i finally gave up after maybe a month of walking in them everyday, as i realized they were the cause of the constant pain in the arch of my foot. after i stopped wearing them, it took about 5 days for the pain to go away. lastly, the shaft is really narrow, too. a pair of skinny jeans and long socks was enough to make them hard to zip up. they'd be great if they were constructed for normal human feet. do not recommend.

I have wide feet and tend to wear 8.5 boots or 8W for a comfortable fit. I previously tried the 8.5 in these shoes and they pinched the wider parts of my feet, so I got the 9s hoping it would adjust for that; but the only difference appears to be that the 9s are a little longer - the toe box is exactly the same as the 8.5. However, they look soooo cute - a good chunky fit - and are otherwise fairly comfortable save for that pinch on the sides. If you have normal or narrow width feet, these should be fine and true to size. If you are wider like me, go with what you normally wear for a roomier fit, and then stretch it out with thick socks around the house for a day or two. My 8.5s I eventually settled on did stretch out after a few wears and don't pinch anymore, and they are fabulous in the rain.

While I haven't tested out how waterproof they are, if they are like the other Sorel boot I got, I suspect they are just water resistant. This material makes the boot a little stiff, but they wear better because of it and last longer. I am between a 5.5 and 6 and these fit well other than being a little wide in the heel. But a great quality boot that I know will last a long time.
