Plant Hunter Waterproof Hooded Coat

Im 5'6 and 165, but have broad shoulders, and long arms, so I bought the 12. There is plenty of room, and Im debating trying the 10. (But so also want to be able to layer, lift my arms and hug somebody.) It's clearly a quality product, with interior fleece and quilting. I'm very happy to report there is an internal pull cord to cinch it and give yourself a bit more shape. There are no side pockets. only front pockets, which I think is a design miss. Those front pockets are not lined with anything cozy, like the fleece, which I think is another miss. It's a bit bulky but any coat worth it's salt, that will keep you warm and dry will be.

I love the jacket and I’m happy I kept it, but I was disappointed with how it was shipped. It arrived bunched up in a bag instead of folded and was very wrinkled. The bag wasn’t even closed, which made it feel like it might have been a return. I thought about returning it, but they no longer have my size and I really love the raincoat. I just expected a little better care with the packaging.

I’ve had this coat for almost a year and wear it everyday in the late fall/winter. Perfect for cold NE weather and walking my dog. It’s held up so well and still looks new. Very warm in single digit windchill. I am 5’5” 140 lbs and got the US 10 for room to move and multiple winter layers. It’s been on several Europe trips as well. Very waterproof. Love the zip out vest. It’s really a great coat.

Cute but would probably look better on taller people. (I’m short and a bit busty). Size 8 was too big; size 6 fit better but still wasn’t very flattering. Zipper is plastic and sticks easily. In the store I decided Barbour seems much more high quality- also preferred my old Eddie Bauer coat for a more flattering fit.

I was so excited to see a coat that was mostly cotton! Everything is made with horrific materials these days, and I was willing to pay a lot more to have natural materials. However the sizing didn’t work out- I bought both an 8 and a 10 and they didn’t feel very different in the shoulders, both were tight and I felt constrained when I lifted my arms. I am 5’5” 145lbs athletic build, so I was surprised to not feel comfortable in the 10, and if I go up to the 12 I think it will be too wide in the hips and too long. If you aren’t broad shouldered or aren’t sensitive to tightness there when reaching, this is a gorgeous coat that will surely last well.
