Victoria Stretch Silk Satin Button-Up Blouse

Wanted to love this but the silk is a washed silk. It does not look at clean and beautiful as the photo. So if you want a casual, washed silk blouse, this is it. But if you want it to be sharp, high end looking, this is not it…or at least the one I got. So I’m returning. The fight is perfect though.

It’s demoralizing to buy clothes these days. Even mid-priced garments like this are often shoddily made from cheap materials. Sometimes it seems like you have to spend $800 on a blouse for a decent fit (and who can afford that?). This is a noteworthy exception. The silk is thick and sumptuous, the collar is beautifully proportioned, and the fit is so close to perfect. Long enough to wear tucked or untucked. However, I had a feeling it would run small and I was right. Usually I order an XL, which is comfortably roomy on me. This time I ordered an XXL and it fit like a glove—not roomy, but nicely fitted. Unfortunately, this otherwise flawless blouse has French cuffs that are too short to be worn the way French cuffs are meant to be worn: folded up once. I’m 5’10”, so maybe the arms are just too short for me. But I’ve very rarely had an issue with sleeves being too short, so I think this is due to the blouse’s design, not my arms. Even though I have to wear the French cuffs un-cuffed, I’m keeping this. That’s how much I appreciate the fit, thoughtful construction and the quality of the silk.
