What it is: A colour-free primer base designed to be worn under lipstick to reduce feathering.

What it does: The lip primer adds light moisture while smoothing and refining the lips. It improves the appearance of applied lip products while reducing lipstick feathering and providing immediate hydration.

How to use: Apply a thin coating over entire lip area and over lip edges. Follow with lip colour and, if desired, line lips.

Great product
Ivy been using this product for at least 20 years. I like to wear matte lip colors and this primer works really well for me. My lips look soft and smooth with or without color. I’m over 60 and this primer has been a staple in my makeup routine for years.

Disappointingly split into two
This primer is too narrow. Simply removing the cap broke the primer in which at least 1/3 of it was in the cap. Wait until MAC sells a much wider primer. The primer itself feels great especially before putting on a matte lipstick; that it is fragile and eventually breaks makes it useless.

No Big Deal
I also found this to be no big deal and didn’t significantly either prime lips or maintain lip liner or lipstick. I’ve been using Too Faced Shadow Insurance for years and that DOES make a noticeable and reliable difference. (Putting eyeshadow primer on my lips hasn’t made me sick, poisoned, or killed me in any way. It’s fine.)
