Runs narrow

I may try to go up a size. The shoe looks well made and I’m looking for a comfortable walking shoe for a trip. I normally will fit a 38 or 39 but even the 39 was tight and on the narrow side (I do have somewhat wide feet but usually can get away without ordering a “wide” shoe.
