Newton Ridge^™ Plus II Waterproof Hiking Boot (Men)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are perhaps the best hiking boots I've ever owned. These run narrow. I've never ordered a wide shoe in my life but the regular width is too narrow. Had to order twice. This shoe is almost perfect. Almost. I used to wear Hi-Teks, not any more.

Bought a pair of these a few years ago when they came out and were more expensive than they are now, price turned me off a bit as I usually stuck with less expensive footwear. I was expecting a heavy, clunky and awkward boot but was pleasantly surprised to find a light, nimble, and comfortable shoe that I still wear. I still haven’t reapplied any waterproof compound and these things have held up through the winter’s keeping my feet warm and dry. They don’t really hold up well to sub zero temperatures, but these weren’t designed for that and the fact they still hold up better than some other boots I’ve worn that were supposed to be cold weather designed is a testament to the quality of these things. In an age where things are designed from the beginning to fail, it’s nice to have something that lasts.
