A very good hiking shoe
I have worn these shoes on a number of short hikes on unpaved trails. They are well constructed and hold up well to the natural impediments encountered in the woods.

Too narrow and tight, even a half size up and wide
I’ve worn a lot of New Balance shoes and they always have a great fit, support, and comfort. These however are surprisingly terrible. Even in a half size up and in wide they feel too narrow and tight. Toe box is cramped. They feel very neutral with pretty much no arch support. Even adding arch support insoles did not help. I am experiencing pain in the balls of my feet. These shoes are pretty much unwearable for me. Complete waste of money.

Great Cushioned Hiker
Great waterproof hiking boots. I’m a heavy guy so I do like to have some extra cushion on the trail. I was looking at Hoka boots and ran across these. Cannot beat the price. Wore them for a week around Yosemite and Tahoe and they were perfect. Was averaging about 6-8 miles each day in them so nothing too crazy but they held up well and have great traction.

I bought the shoe still working cause I’m on my feet a lot and do a lot of walking and thus far the shoe is holding up well very comfortable and kept my foot dry when we had a very bad rain storm.

Fantastic shoe, but not standard NB size
These are well made shoes perfect for what I needed: hiking on rocky terrain They have great sturdy lace-ups that can really be cranked on, firm soles for navigating sharp rocks and substantial light weight bases above the soles for a plush ride. The "wides" run very narrow for NB shoes, and if anything, a little long, not short. I'll just live w/ a little extra shoe in front of my toes, as I'm afraid a half size smaller (which I often get w/ NB wides) will be too narrow
