The stiff sole and soft foam combine to create the perfect training shoe for my middle schooler as he recovers from Plantar's fasciitis. The shoe has also been a great choice to my son who is dealing with Sever’s disease. Best of all my middle school aged kids like wearing them!

Terrible new redesign.
NB took an absolutely amazing shoe, the 840 v4 or v5 and turned it into this garbage. The old shoe was perfect for people who supinate and offered a great support, in my case it also prevented back ache from the way I walk. For whatever reason, they decided to seemingly keep the numbering, and toss away the whole design. 6 weeks of struggling to figure out why my back pain wasn't going away after the old pair wore out and I bought these to replace them till a shoe expert pointed out they weren't the same shoe even if the numbers matched. Thanks NB. Ended up tossing them in the trash and getting some 990s which work fine for walking and helped the back ache but aren't really built for running. These new ones are too soft and wishy washy with no actual support. Way to ruin a good product.

Great at first
Bought two pair.
Started out great. But after a few months something happened with the arch support. Painful to walk in them.
Not sure if I'm going to try a different model or different brand.
