Double Breasted Ruana

As I took it out of the package at first I was impressed by the weight… until I saw it was 100% acrylic so you know that this means it will be pulling before I know it! So the true disappointment lies in the fact that while it is double breasted, only the left side buttons have button holes, while the right side buttons just flop around having been sewn on the front! The buttons are cheap too boot! Thin and hollow with no weight to them (and they are large so that’s why they flop around!). The arm holes are also cut weirdly, like not big enough? If you are standing still, the look is great, but functionally, I don’t know how this will wear over time. Now there is enough fabric underneath for me to take off all the right side buttons and take to a tailor to make new button holes and sew in the buttons from the fabric underneath but do I want to make that investment for this? I honestly think at just under $50 this isn’t worth it for an “ok” 100% acrylic piece.
