Love Mother Jeans-but maybe not so much this style
I love Mother Jeans and I have 2 other styles that are my absolute favorite! These were little more distressed, and lighter colored than I hoped they would be. I think they look good when I look in the mirror, but I have noticed they do not photograph as flattering as my other pairs.

Great jeans but runs large
These are great jeans. Nice straight leg, looser foot pair with comfortable stretch. I do find mother sizing to be all over the place. I am normally a 26/27 but these fit fine.

Loose fit and long length
I wear a 26 in denim in general but usually size up to a 27 in Mother as I find Mother jeans often run small. I ordered these in a 27 and they fit looser than I prefer. I like to wear my denim as a high-rise waist and not slung lower on my hips. If you want to wear these as a higher rise, size down one from your normal Mother size. If you prefer to wear these lower on your waist, stay true to your normal Mother size. Regarding the shape of the leg, I wouldn’t consider these to be a straight leg. The ankle has a slight taper from the hip & thigh area. These were also incredibly long on me, which I expected at 5’2. This pair would work great for someone with long legs or is tall.
