Run 2 or 3 sizes too small. Got my normal size and didn't come close to buttoning. Returned. Other than too small very nice shorts at a great price.

Great fit, fun shorts but the denim is stiff
I read that a couple of reviews say they run small -- one of the things I love about Mother is how consistent the sizing is, but the shorts are made from a rigid denim that doesn't really stretch. I took my normal size! These look great and are perfect fo summer.

If you’re looking for denim that isn’t too short, these are the shorts! I am a 25 in most mother denim and the 25 fit perfectly in the waist, zip up, lay flat in the front along the stomach (not bunched up after wear), and come to just above the knee. Very happy with this purchase!
