MTL Long Sky 2 Trail Running Shoe

I found them roomy and very long but sizing down 1/2 from my regular size (1 full size down from my typical running shoe size) worked fantastic for a snug performance fit with amazing heel lock. Going true-to-size had too much length in front of the toe which led to tripping, and the heel was a little sloppy as well. The toe box is still wide enough to allow for toe splay even when sizing down. The Vibram tread has extremely good grip on technical trails, they are light enough for climbs, and have a close ground feel. There is adequate cushioning for sub-ultra distance I think: they felt supportive for me on trail runs up to 3 hours but I had problems after that with feet swelling and the low volume fit due to me sizing down. I'm sure some could wear them for a lot longer than 3 hours. The laces are quite long which is helpful for using the runners knot. It's also a very good looking shoe in my view. They're not well suited to firmer, flatter trails as they don't have the bounce, rocker, or propulsion I've come to enjoy in a road shoe. But for quick technical work they are unparalleled in my experience.
