One would expect no break in experience with Mephisto shoes. Not this time around. I tried them second time - same results. They are very rigid, gave me blisters again. The tongue is too long too. The most uncomfortable sneakers I have ever had. Too bad I can’t return them. $300 down the drain

I really wanted to love these shoes. They were beautiful out of the box, very nice quality. Could easily dress up or down, super versatile. The zip is a great idea - easy to take on and off while staying neatly tied. Unfortunately the shoe was a little long so my heel didn’t feel secure and the hard leather at the back of the heel plus a part of the tongue in the front of the left shoe both rubbed and would eventually have given me blisters. It also didn’t seem that the footbed or arch support wasn’t great though that’s something I could work with since the soles are removable. It’s possible the shoes would have softened up over time but for the price it wasn’t a risk I was willing to take.

Mephisto makes great sneakers. Wearable right out of the box. These are very comfortable, supportive shoes which you can wear all day while traveling or shopping. They have a side zipper and a center lace. You can leave the laces tied and just use the zipper to get in and out of the shoe. Conversely, you can leave the zipper closed and just tie the lace as needed. The sizing is pretty true. You would definitely not need to go a size up. If anything, you might compare a half size smaller to see which feels better to you.

Great Looking and Comfortable. I have several pairs of this style. I've seen reviews where people complain about squeaking between the footbed and insole. I have a lot of leather shoes with foam footbeds, and to eliminate that, just place a used dryer sheet under the footbed—squeakless!
