Split Neck Ruffle Sleeve Top

I want to like this too. It’s such a cute fabric that goes with jeans well, BUT, it has a really huge neck. Huge, falls off my shoulders. I started with a size XL as in this brand I sometimes take that size. It was huge, not too long, but way wide. So I ordered a medium, still too big in the neck and wide bodice. Then I went in to the store and saw a size small available so I grabbed that and took it to try. So the small fits perfectly except now the length is too short. So, I guess I struck out on this top. I forgot to mention another sort of odd thing about it is from the side view it does something weird in the upper back area that creates the look of a “hunchback “ and that was true in all the sizes. Can’t figure this out??

I really like this top but something about how the back is also pleated at the neck makes the back puff out too much. If they had left the fabric flat at the back collar without gathering the fabric, it would be great for a comfortable boho look. Most women are ok with pleating in the front that is forgiving of the stomach area, but that same pleating on the back side just makes a person look bigger than they are. It gives off a clown vibe and just make you look big all around. I really hope Max Studio will get some feedback and remove back pleats in the future. It's not flattering. Otherwise, I loved the material, pattern and detail at the arms. It just makes a person look large from all sides. Not flattering and I don't think I will be keeping it. Kills me to send it back because the fabric feel very good on, but the silhouette is bad.
