Chaos Ankle Strap Sandal (Women)

The stitching was even, but very harsh against the foot, particularly at the metatarsal area. The insole is ultra thin, like one millimeter, it felt like, with virtually no padding, compared to other Blahnik sandals. As for fit, these are a narrow shoe, and I would say they run a bit small. So if you have an average foot, you may want to size up half a size or more depending on your particular foot and preference. I am usually a 40.5 to 41 in shoes and because this is a medium-height shoe, (90mm) I can wear the 40.5, and still have about a half-centimeter at the front of my big toe, which is nice. For a wider foot, maybe size up a full size if not not a size and a half. Regarding the color, it is almost a pewter, dark gold color, with a gorgeous shine when the light hits the satin. It's a shame that this shoe didn't work out because on the foot it was beautiful. As for the outsole on the Chaos, it's about 1.5 millimeters let us say, and it is far too soft to function as a practical outsole. The trouble is that it's too flexible. This flexibility this leads to the shoe being unstable to wear because the heel is glued to an outsole that's too soft, and that means the heel will not feel rock solid to walk on. And that's what I noticed right away. When I was trying on the shoe, the heel felt wobbly under my feet, and I felt like I would fall. I felt like the heel would break off. That's the worst issue with this Chaos sandal. It feels wobbly and like it's not a strong enough shoe to support me. Moreover, because the heel is now a very thin, spindly heel (this was a 90mm option for reference), instead of the flared base of the older models or even the one pictured on the Nordstrom website, the heel is not only affixed to a softer outsole, but because the heel's cap is so tiny, I have an even smaller surface area to work with when I walk, so I'm constantly having to watch where I step, or risk falling. I felt like I had to think about every step I made in my own living room, and I'm not new to high heels. I think the Chaos shoes were once much more stable and comfortable to wear. The image of the shoe on the Nordstrom website reflects this: the leather of the outsole looks a bit thicker and hardier, and the base is square and slightly flared. My photos just show the difference in the heel shape of the Chaos which was advertised versus what I received. You can also see that because the outsole is so soft, it is already starting to bend and fold at the base of the heel.
