Fit: Runs slightly small

Perfect Fit for Me

I am 5' 7", 155 lbs, typically a size 28 or 6, and these happened to fit perfectly for me. I also have a very high natural waist, and these do actually hit my natural waist, so if you are on the shorter side the high rise might be TOO high for you. I don't find that they run small, per other reviews, but maybe there is variation within the sizes?

waist gap

I have three pair of madewell jeans in a size 28, but these are higher with a huge waist gap. I actually like how high they are but the waist gap is pretty insane - I’m returning.

not for curvy girls

These were super unflattering on me. I’m 5’5”, 155, and pear shaped, purchased a size 30. These were very “mom” Jean style and i guess that just doesn’t work for my body type. Going to return.

not consistent sizing

These jeans were a mess! I normally wear a 28 in Madewell vintage jeans. I ordered the 28 and I couldn’t even zipper them! They don’t fit at all like my other Madewell vintages! I returned and ordered the 29 and after one wear they stretched so much they looked terrible. The material is way stiffer than usual too.

Not for curvy girls

I LOVE madewell jeans, and have so many of them, so it hurts my heart to rate these so low. I ordered my usual 25, but they were just too tight, so I ordered them in 26 and they fit in the legs and hips but were HUGE in the waist. If you have a straight figure, these are the jeans for you, if you have curves at all in your lower half, I just can not recommend.

Runs large - ignore instructions to size up

These jeans were absolutely huge on me. I normally wear a 27/28 and therefore ordered a 29 because the instructions said they run small. That was so wrong. they're also not flattering for anyone with curves. Returning ASAP.

Runs small

I have 5 or 6 pairs of Madewell size 28 jeans in various fits includinf perfect vintage jeans. I can’t even zip these in 28. These do run small - size up.

Love these

I have a short waist and long legs and these hit it perfectly. Love the thickness of the denim and the color. Remember that the size may be smaller than what you normally order in Madewell jeans since it hits higher on your waist. Typically, that part of you will be smaller where other cuts may sit closer to your hips and around a larger part.

my fave jeans

Love them! Was nervous as I’ve heard Madewell jeans runs small, but the 33 was perfect for me. I have a long torso and am generally rectangular/apple in shape, and these waist on these is nice and fitted rather than tight like usual. They hug in all the right places and fit straight, just like the model. Perfect!

so small in all the wrong places!

I’m a solid 6 and ordered a 28. These are so small!!! I couldn’t get them past my knees. No thanks. They’re heading back immediately

Small!! Size up!

These jeans are so small in the waist and upper thighs. I can zip them up but they are way tighter than all my other Madewell size 26 jeans.
