Garment Dye Denim Jacket

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the unique cut and color of this jacket. The fabric is just heavy enough that it doesn’t feel bulky and is still soft and comfortable. The pockets on the inside of the jacket were a nice surprise. Excellent construction as always from Madewell!

I like unique color & why I got it despite steep price. Material very soft & comfortable unlike most denim which is quite stiff & not terribly comfy. They seem to focus on aesthetics vs function. For instance, wud it kill them to have two front pockets vs one? But the thing I hate most are those side pockets which is too far back to put my hands in. Really hate it & if it wasn’t for its color, I wud switch back to my Gap denim jacket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really love the slightly cropped cut and sort of plum/dark grey color, but I’m not sure if the price point is justified. The denim is thinner than I would prefer — a slightly thicker denim would feel much more premium. Most of these jackets I saw in store have very poorly folded collars (very uneven, slightly popped in the back) which would need steaming to correct. Not all of them have that problem but it’s something to look out for. I had to return it once I noticed the issue with the collar because I can’t justify paying that kind of money for a defective item, even if the fix is simple. Hopefully it goes on sale soon
