Mademoiselle Calfskin Leather Crossbody Bag

I looked a looong time before deciding on this bag that ticked off everything I wanted on my checklist. I am very petite, so had to be a smaller bag, otherwise I look like I am carrying luggage. Had to have some kind of style in front; if too plain, again, looks like luggage on me. Nice leather. Mid-range luxury price (at Rack discount, this is a steal!) Medium size interior. I have several nice small bags, but have to switch to smaller wallet etc to make it all fit. I wanted one I can easily fit my regular wallet, sunglass case, phone, and still have room for more. But still cute and able to use for nicer occasions (i.e. not a tote bag). Inside/outside slip/zip pockets for phone, keys, tickets, etc. Secure closure so small items don't fall out if the bag tips over. (Second choice Strathberry Mosaic, but flap top is not very secure.) Crossbody/top handle option for day to night. This is a splurge for me, so versatility is appreciated. And crossbody is a must for buffets, holding drinks! No problem with closure (the person who had a problem maybe had a broken one; I hope this is not a weak point on this bag). Crossbody strap not adjustable and way too long for a shorty like me. Almost a deal breaker. But I knotted it, so all good.

I absolutely love this bag so went ahead and purchased it. I’m so sad that I will have to return it but when used as a shoulder bag I cannot lock this bag! I need to take it off my shoulder or use both hands to line up the lock and get it to actually click into place. I’ve also struggled with unlocking it so it’s a non starter for me. It’s so silly but I’ve been struggling with doing the return because as I said before I love this bag

Gorgeous leather and very roomy to carry your essentials. Love this bag, I’ve been a longchamp fan almost 20 years. Bought my first few in Europe at the longchamp stores. Can’t beat the classic French style.

I have this bag in the larger size in every color it was made. Nowadays unfortunately it seems to come only in black. My black bag is THE bag for everyday and sometimes nighttime as well. It looks as new today as it looked the first day years ago. There’s room for everything. It is a super strong as well as an elegant bag. I say this having also various Channel bags, twice the price or more, and also other top brands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Longchamp's Mademoiselle leather crossbody bag has some nice features with one big disadvantage. On the plus side, the leather looks soft yet durable and the option of using the purse as a shoulder bag or a crossbody is a nice touch. However, when I tried the Mademoiselle on at my local Nordstrom, the lock drove me crazy. I don't know if it was defective or just not user friendly but I couldn't unlock the bag. A difficult lock is a deal breaker for me.

I don't think it is too heavy and I love that it can be worn two ways. Crossbody or up on the shoulder. I like crossbody's but when going out for dinner or something dressy it nice not to have to carry a bag crossbody. Thanks to a video I found online I now know how to operate the lock and its very straightforward and easy.
