Sizing makes no sense
7.5 is too small, 8 is HUGE. If you're a 38 you are completely out of luck

The perfect hiking boot
I’m normally a size 9 and sized up to a 9.5 so I could wear a thicker sock and they fit perfectly. The leather is gorgeous, perfect color, super flattering, comfortable, and rugged without being too masculine. The grippy soles are a little squeaky on my hardwood floors but I appreciate the durable lug sole and I know I’m not going to slip on anything!

Glad I bought them!
I am a size 7 in most shoes and ordered these in a 7 and there is toe room to spare. However these are tight for me on the top of my foot at the toe joint. If they stretch out they will be perfect- if they don’t, I won’t be able to wear them for a long period of time. I don’t have a wide foot, and only weigh 105 pounds, so it’s not an issue with my feet- it’s definitely the boot. I do want these to work so hoping they stretch. The soles also “squeak “ a little but assuming that’s because they are new. I’ve read reviews that say to size up a half size- but If I sized up- these would have been to big for sure
