Runs small

I ordered my usual size, 8.5, and the pair I received (size 38) ran short and narrow on me - very tight in just a thin sock. Boots themselves seem nice - heavy and well constructed. May try 1/2 size up. 1st time with this brand so not sure it is their normal sizing or just these boots.
