We purchased the extra-wide version of these shoes for our 8-year-old son who wears an ankle brace, and they have been fantastic. The extra-wide fit provides plenty of room for his brace while still being comfortable and secure. One of the biggest benefits is that he can easily slip the shoes on and off independently, which has been a huge confidence booster for him.
