So, the laces are fairly tight, so re-lacing will alleviate the tightness in the width. My normal size is a 7.5 / 38, and I have at least an inch of toe space. The tongue is sort of floppy, so again, re-lacing to help with positioning. Light socks are about all I can wear with these, or go barefoot as the center part of my foot is where it's tight. Unsure if that's because I have a high arch and these are super flat shoes. The leather is very soft and pliable. I got the scuff / mule version in a 7.5 and it was much looser, likely because the back is open. If the tongue doesn't behave, I may look for a stiffener to stick on the underside to make it sit properly. I took a star off due to the odd fit where it's longer, but narrower in the middle.
