I honestly don’t agree with many of the negative reviews. I think these shoes are fantastic—both stylish and surprisingly comfortable. I normally wear a women’s size 7.5 or 8, and the size 8 fit me perfectly. The most important thing to know is that these shoes need to fit the footbed exactly right. If the shoe is too short, the heel lip will hit the underside of your heel and the shoe will feel too small. If it’s too large, it feels loose and sloppy. When the fit is right, your foot rests naturally in the footbed from heel to toe, with your heel gently against the back of the shoe, and they’re incredibly comfortable. It’s also worth noting that these shoes are only available in whole sizes. If you normally wear a half size, finding the perfect fit may be more challenging. I followed Hunter’s recommendation to size up if you’re between sizes. If the larger size feels just slightly roomy, a thicker sock may be enough to fine-tune the fit. Many of the negative reviews mention that the heel lifts while walking. That’s actually how this style is designed. These are slip-on casual shoes, meant to be worn more like a clog or flip-flop—not a structured hiking boot. If you’re expecting your heel to stay locked in place, you’re expecting the wrong type of shoe. These are lifestyle shoes for everyday wear, not rugged outdoor adventures. That said, they still have the weather resistance and quality Hunter is known for. They handle light rain well, and the chunky platform keeps your feet elevated enough that shallow puddles aren’t an issue. The style is what really sold me. They look great, with our without socks, and can be paired with skirts, cropped pants, wide-leg jeans—pretty much everything. And despite the bold platform, they’re surprisingly lightweight and comfortable. If you’re looking for a secure hiking shoe, these probably aren’t for you. But if you’re looking for a stylish, weather-ready slip-on for everyday wear, I think Hunter absolutely nailed it with these.

Here’s how much I love these shoes. I bought a second/backup pair. They ran a bit large. I’m normally a 8.5, tried and 9 (way too big) and then landed on size 8. Perfect fit. No flopping or looseness. Yes, they are clunky but somehow they still look cute. I’ve had Achilles issues in the past and the height and stability have made these my favorite shoes to walk the dog. Great price at the Rack too!
