elastic waist doesn't mean stretchy
I ended up not buying this skirt even though I loved the fabric and envisioned all sorts of top ideas. First, it is a maxi skirt for me (5'4" on a good day). There is elastic at the waist, but the skirt itself is a-line, so fits snugly from the waist through the hips. The small *just* fit me, leaving no swish room around the hips, so sitting wasn't as comfortable as it could have been. The back of the waistband is gently elastic and there is a side zipper. The tag occasionally gets caught in the zipper when closing. The length on the small on me just hit the floor. The medium was too big in the waist and way too long; if I do decide later to purchase this, I would need it altered. It is a great year-round piece, though, and there are lots of complementary tops and sweaters in the sale, too.
