Palm Tree Print Linen Blend Tie Front Dress

I am 5’6 and wear a size large shirt. I’m a size 10 in most designer jeans. Long torso. It’s a shorter dress, so would require an average amount of decorum while wearing. There are pockets. It’s flowy and a fun summer style. The strings on the top are a bit awkward so I just leave them untied and the little poms at the end of the strings jazz it up a bit. Fabric is thicker especially on the top around the shoulders and because of the puffy sleeves it gives a bit of a boxy look.

Surprisingly, given how short this is, the sleeves make this look a bit matronly on me. And when I say short, at 5'2 this is creeping pretty close to flashing a show with the slightest stretch, but I'm long waisted so that might be a contributing factor. I would wear this with a cute pair of crisp white shorts. The sleeves are more volumnous than I anticipated. It looks better with both sets of ties undone, it really needs that openness to counterbalance the dress. The fabric may soften up after a few washings, but out of the package it's sort of stiff and scratchy feeling - I would expect much softer cotton for an almost $300 dress. Clearly it is more of a relaxed fit, but it sort of balloons out in the body. Again, maybe a few washes would soften it up for more movement and flow. As with all the other Farm Rio dresses I've triedm it's a bit tight thru the bust, but this is much less so than their other dresses I've tried. The blue is beautiful, and I love the pattern, but overall the dress wears me, I'm not wearing the dress.
