Cap Sleeve Rib Dress

I purchased this because Nordstrom has this listed as machine wash. I would not have purchased this if I knew it was DRY CLEAN ONLY because it’s too much maintenance for a casual dress. I washed it, machine wash cold, and it came out shriveled and the hem is a mess (scalloped and not in a cute way). I’m laying it flat to dry and I’m praying that I can iron it back to its original shape but it’s not looking good. I read other reviews on the same exact Eileen Fisher product (t-shirt version, long sleeve version) and others made the same complaints. I gave it two stars (as opposed to 1) because prior to washing, it was a nice casual dress. However, due to the misleading care instructions, I’m left disappointed.

I bought this to have a casual yet modest option while traveling in Japan. I like the variations in the ribbing. This dress hit me just above the knee, and I am 5’8”. A more petite person may find it to be almost more of a midi length. I find this to be true to size, if you understand that EF sizing is a little generous. I tried both the small and the medium, and interestingly, both are exactly the same size. And by exact I mean precisely. So if you’re normally small or medium, and they’re out of stock, you may still have options, unless this was an isolated event. This dress skims over the body, and is a great choice for concealing evidence of previous indulgences.
