Patria Square Toe Flat (Women)

I’ve had 6 surgeries on my feet & can finally buy “real” shoes. I was an 8 ½ before, but now I’m not quite an 8 ½, nor am I an 8. I’ve looked/purchased/returned multiple pairs but never found anything to match my “new” foot size. I wanted a classic, simple black flat, but they all hurt or rubbed or were cheap synthetic. So when I found the Bruno Magli I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend a small fortune. I watched the video on NR & read the reviews suggesting to size down. So I ordered the 8 & it’s THE shoe!! It fit perfectly yet gently. First: the presentation is beyond elegant: the box is elegant, the shoes are packaged with care & includes a soft shoe bag. The leather is buttery soft & feels like slipping on your favorite familiar glove. They are lightweight (heavy shoes make my feet tired), elegant, classic & beautiful. The squared toe box & heel are perfectly balanced. And they don’t hurt!! I can’t wait to get many years of comfort & wear from these classic fashionable flats.

I was originally looking for ballet flats, and I scoured a websites for Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Macy’s, Zappos…. Pretty much everywhere, and i couldn’t find what I wanted based on pictures and reviews, as well as price points. I took a chance on ordering three different shoes, including the Patria. I was so annoyed that my typical size of 7 1/2 was too big because I really like this shoe. It truly is so soft and comfortable; there wasn’t a spot that pinched. I tried using a shoe insert to see if the 7 1/2 would fit better, but no go. My foot just around, and the heel slipped out. So disappointed! I ordered the sand color in 7 just to see if that would fit better, and it was perfect. Unfortunately the 7 in black was no longer available. Once again I spent a lot of time looking for a black pair in 7. Macy’s was not on sale, but I found them on the Bruno Magli website at 20% off the sale price. They cost $35 more than NR, but better than full price. They were also the last pair of 7’s. They look more like a very low block- heeled pump, but I like that they can be dressed up as well as down, and the quality for the price is amazing. If I hadn’t been able to get the black 7’s I may have settled for the Cole Haan Go-To Valinda ballet flats because they are quite comfortable, but they are more casual and the difference in quality is obvious. BM comes with a dust bag! Definitely worth the price. Just make sure you size down half a size. You won’t regret it.
